Jotspot was acquired by Google some times ago. It was a software company that offered enterprise social software - a structured wiki, a way to create site content thanks to collaborative efforts. Wikipedia.org is a good example of a wiki.
Now why did Google acquire them?
Google acquired JotSpot for their excellent and easy to use software. Google has enhanced it and integrated into their Google Apps products line.
It is now very easy for anyone (even you and even if you don’t know a single word of HTML) to create pretty and fully functionnal websites.

In fact creating a website with Google Sites is as easy as editing a document and you won’t need anyone’s help.
Here is a brief feature list of what Google Site is:
- Allow to create a new page for your Google Site with a single click of a button.
- No programming language to learn. It is as easy as editing a document.
- High customization: Make your Google Site looks like you. Give it your own look and feel.
- Several pre-made templates exist to help you get started as fast as possible.

- Upload your own files and attachments up to 10MB in size each. Each Google Apps account comes with a minimum of 10GB of storage in Google Sites. Premier and education accounts even get an additional 500MB for each user account.
- Integrated rich content into your Google Sites like Videos, Docs,Photo Slide Shows, Calendars etc…
- Collaborative work ready. Keep your Google Site private or share it with your friends, your family, your collaborators or the World (meaning that they can edit or create

pages)!
- Use the powerul Google Search technology to search across all the Google Sites pages exactly the way you would search content on Google.com.
